Onesie Cupcakes

Header

Hello! I recently saw a blog post where the author made a bouquet out of onesies for a baby boy’s baby shower, but now I cannot seem to find the post. If you know which one I am talking about, please let me know! While I was on the site, I mentioned that it was a great idea and I would try it for the next baby shower that comes up. Immediately after typing that comment, I found out I had a baby shower to attend the next week! I immediately though of the onesie bouquet. I felt like the roses also kind of looked like cupcakes, so I decided to go with a box of onesie cupcakes for this baby girl. It is a really cute way of presenting onesies instead of the usual gift box or bag.

You’ll need some onesies, baby socks, and a cupcake box with inserts.

Tape and cupcake liners are optional but recommended.

Step0

Begin with a onesie with the back side up.

Step1

Fold the arms and bottom of the onesie in, to create a thin rectangle.

Step2

Fold the rectangle in half, making sure that the folded end is on top, and the open end is on the bottom.

Step3

Take one baby sock and roll it inside out. Now you need to roll the sock into a ball, but instead of a ball, you want a roll.

Step4

Roll starting from the toe area up to the ankle.

Step5

Then flip the top opening of the sock over the roll. In this picture, I did it on the right side only so you get a better understanding of what I did.

Step6

I manipulated my roll until the flower design showed on top. This is going to be the cherry on top of the cupcake!

Step7

Place the sock at the end of the folded onesie and start rolling it up.

Step8

Step9 copy

You should end up with something like this. Use a piece of tape to secure the cupcake if desired.

Step10

Place the cupcake in the cupcake liner.

Step11

And repeat all the steps about until you have enough cupcakes. I put the extra socks and onesies underneath the cupcake insert.

Step12

And finally top it off with a bow and you’re all set! As always, if you have any questions or comments, I’d be happy to answer!

This is so fun! I totally thought they were cupcakes at first glance. 🙂

I have seen the diaper cakes and the ones you can purchase are ridiculously expensive…this would be a much more doable way to do something similar!
